The era of mindless consumption

Greed is good seems to be the mantra today. And the ecommerce sites promoting this consumption massacre are not complaining. One of the leading American sites had its founding chairman dominating world news as the richest man alive. Super!

But the billion dollar question is can this madness be sustained? If I was Elon Musk i would say ofcourse cause we are all headed to Mars.

I am a big fan of Musk. But I am quite conservative when it comes to a future fuelled by mindless consumption. We already have data that shows we need 1.5 earth to feed and sustain the present population. And instead of slowing down we are speeding up consumption!

I saw a Ted video that showcased how China's huge online population is consuming like there is no tomorrow and it is becoming some kind of a model for other countries as they too seem to be catching up.

It is quite frightening to say the least. We must consume what we need and not all that our heart desires. This will not just increase the disparity between the rich and poor in the short term but can cause catastrophic damages in the long run.

Let us not be parasites on this earth but try to develop a symbiotic relationship with nature. The way our forefathers tried to live before us...

Thinking is our biggest asset as humans. So let us use our greatest gift for saving our own lives....

Humanity is lost!

We lost ourselves when our quest was overtaken by greed. First, we wanted to learn - the earth, the oceans, the skies and then we wanted to own them. We invented toys of mass pleasure and mass pain. We got religion and creed. And we got lost in all these. We stopped being the wanderers who wanted to cherish nature. Enjoy it's gifts.  We started challenging the almighty the creator. We lost. We are dying as a race. Dying with the burden of civilization that offers only stress and agony of loans. Sitting in one position we are destroying our body the greatest gift of nature. We don't deserve to be called the smartest of all species. We are the most idiotic of all. We are dumb. AI is taking over. We will be lost in machines soon. They are our future. We cease to be us soon. God bless us!

Oblivious to oblivion

We humans are getting more and more engrossed in things that don't matter and replacing it with things that do matter. We keep track of every new I phone model but we have lost track of the losing greenbelt and nature. We are killing everything that is keeping us alive. But we are happy to live now selling our tomorrow's.  It's a sad state of affairs. We are looking externally for things which are within us. And things which are external and unnecessary we are taking it internally - like peer pressure and loud lifestyles. Where is the sense? Where is the moral compass that controls our actions? Wake up humanity...before we are erased from this planet. We need the planet the planet doesn't need us. Let's not forget that, ever.

Nature calling!

There is a tiny little compass within us, our conscience, the keeps giving us signals. There are times when it keeps warning us of the dangers of the city life we are living. It gives us hint of being at home when we are in the middle of nature. We are all like tiny parts of the nature we are so foolishly moving away from. And that's why we feel so much at home when we go to these places. We are parts of them - the air, the water, the soil, the fire that makes us us. Not the iphones and fancy toys we are so attached to these days. Let's make it a point to live closer to nature. To breathe pure air. To drink water unadulterated by modernism. To think thoughts that are pure and in tandem with the cosmos. There is a monk within us. Why do we hide him? Why do we not listen to him? We must. Before it's too late!
