Spirits

There must be a reason why we call liquor spirits
What I feel is that liquor is like a torchlight
It lights up the inner lacunae in your minds
Taking you to labyrinths you don't remember existed in this life
Almost feeling like you have gone back in time
To a life where you were someone else
With someone else sharing a whole different world
Sometimes that feeling brings back spirits in your life from lives you thought never existed
Brings memories and visions you felt don't exist but they come alive
Like magic
People come closer move further depending on the chemistry inside the brain
The liquor induced hallucinations make you see things you want to see and may be you don't
Cook up desires you refuse to acknowledge or confront
Brings you a sense of peace you thought possible only on heaven or awaken the demons from the secret chambers in your mind
Face it. Live it. Forget it. Remember it.
Just drink the cups and feel the nirvana
Hear the voice of your subconscious and the vision of your inner eye
Cheers to a life you never thought existed
Welcome to your heaven or hell
And the road to this sanctum passes through the bottle

Nature calling!

There is a tiny little compass within us, our conscience, the keeps giving us signals. There are times when it keeps warning us of the dangers of the city life we are living. It gives us hint of being at home when we are in the middle of nature. We are all like tiny parts of the nature we are so foolishly moving away from. And that's why we feel so much at home when we go to these places. We are parts of them - the air, the water, the soil, the fire that makes us us. Not the iphones and fancy toys we are so attached to these days. Let's make it a point to live closer to nature. To breathe pure air. To drink water unadulterated by modernism. To think thoughts that are pure and in tandem with the cosmos. There is a monk within us. Why do we hide him? Why do we not listen to him? We must. Before it's too late!

2020: adios amigo!

The year 2020 was cruel to most of us, but it taught us many positive lessons. It made us appreciate and be grateful for all that we have, and realise what we really need in life to be happy. It was a lesson needed for the world to reboot and rethink of its priorities. It reminded us that we have been making the mistake of using people and loving things when it needs to be the other way round. It made us realise the importance of the people in our lives - even if they are the people who do mundane jobs in our households and whom we tend to take for granted. It also made us realise that our wealth can't protect us from the virus or a calamity, but our fellow humans can; the great work done by the medical fraternity, the workers who helped us stay alive during the lockdown, was truly commendable. No words can really describe how grateful the rest of us are for these courageous selfless servants of humanity. I hope we have learnt the lessons and learnt them well as a race, as life ten...

Hey gorgeous

I find you beautiful not because you are good looking I find you beautiful because your eyes share the same pain I see in my own I find you gorgeous because you wear the look of a fellow traveller longing for the train to arrive in the station soon I find you irresistable because I see the fountains of joy that soothes my heart in your eyes as you look at me I find you stunning because you are imperfect and scarred just like me Let's share this life Whatever little is left of it Let's laugh and cry together Let's celebrate the scars and toast the time together as finally we have the chance to be with each other Let's not give up now Let's not wait another lifetime to quench the thirst our souls feel for each other Comeon let's approach the future together Like a pack of wolves chasing a prey And let's feast on moments we conquer  for ourselves...
