Hollow

Most of the people around me are dead already
Their eyes are like the eyes of dead fish
Resigned to their fate to die a slow suffocating death
Their walk has lost the bounce and vigour of childhood, to grow up to be walking dead

Is this the world we want to live in?
A world where we are alive because we have no other choice?
We have made machines our new masters
Slowly everyday we handover the reins of our lives to them as we slide into a lifeless stupor

Wake up mankind wake up
We have not come this far only to get no far from here
We are not going to write our epitaph just yet
We survived because we are fighters
Solution seekers and rain makers

Let's retrace our footsteps
Let's rediscover the way our forefathers lived
They had difficult lives but they were more alive than we are today

We are like the Dracula, someone who is blessed to live forever as long as he is willing to be more dead than alive

Is this the best we can do?
The mankind - creator of the gods, the heaven and the hell.
The creators of great mythologies and histories.

Let's wake up and wake up soon
Cos time is just running away fast
Like a bleeding wound losing too much blood

It's time to take a few steps towards a more minimalistic life
Where humans are the centre and machines obey us
Let's work hard and sweat like pigs
Let's move mountains by strength of huge  armies
Let's recreate the passion for living and not merely staying alive
Let's not die slowly but live quickly with firing enthusiasm for every moment we are alive

Broken

I feel like the kite that was flying high in the sky And suddenly the thread broke somewhere somehow And the drifting and dancing with the cool breeze started And then slowly the gravity took over dragging down and down and down The children of the area were too busy to run after me Probably attending some class for their future The onlookers didn't give me a second look Now I'm stuck on a branch of tree High up from the battles but not high enough for the breeze to push me again and again I am tied to the tree It talks to me about being grounded About the greatness in being rooted I don't understand it Because I have only flown all my life Never been tied to a tree I have only longed for the blue sky all my life Have only heard cheering when I flew high Now the rain gets me wet and soggy And the sun makes me brittle I wish the tree knew the joy of flying Wish I could convince it the beauty seen from high up in the sky The feeling of racing the birds hi...

Can the exhibition industry go virtual?

Exhibitions and stalls are an integral part of direct marketing in almost every industry. But can these exhibitions go virtual? The stalls could be virtually created and virtual meetings fixed from the comfort of one's own location. Imagine the amount of time that can be saved in travelling, planning logistics, managing hotel reservations etc. And ofcourse the cost. Imagine if virtual reality was able to give you the same feel as you get when you are inside an exhibition! You look around and be part of the traffic just as you are in real world.... Imagine animation, 3D and other graphics can add life to your stall. Just like an animation film, if  you are able to create a virtual reality.... If today you are able to attend eight meetings a day, may be you could attend twelve then as you will save the time of commuting physically from one room to another. Can it happen in the near future? I feel it can! Would love to know your views. ---------------- The views expressed are m...

The power of hope

In my view, the gift of hope is the greatest gift mankind has with it. Every achievement no matter how small starts with this ability of ours - hope. And from hope arises the second gift we have - trust It's a combination of hope and trust that actually runs this world. When we get into a plane and are flying in the air with no safety net whatsoever, hope that we will be safe and the trust that a few of our species namely the engineers and pilots and even the person filling the fuel in the aircraft have done their best. We trust their ability to take care of us. The pilots do the same with pharmacists who design pills that we eat without thinking if we will be alive. Because we hope that we will get well and we trust our fellow humans. Name a profession, and we are bound by an unseen contract of hope and trust with humanity. The army, the farmers, the barbers, the bakers, the teachers, the nurses....the list is endless but yet the hope and trust is what we really buy in return for ...
