Freedom!

Are we really free?

We are slaves of the lives we have chosen. We are slaves of our past decisions. We are slaves of our false ambitions that were ingrained in our mind by institutions like schools, colleges, family and community. We are trying to live someone else's dreaming by calling it our own.

We are lost. All of us. Lost in the heaps of things that we are accumulating in our homes and our lives. The ads that make us salivate more for more. 

What is the point of owning things that just give you nothing but more stress?

We are the most stressed generation. We are worried about losing all we have that prevents us from enjoying what we really have. We are hooked on to social media that makes us more insecure and makes us feel more incomplete by seeing the touchedup happy images of our connections. The connections themselves are equally miserable if not more miserable than us.

Why are we doing this to ourselves? Why can't we break free? Why are we bound to this false life of wants and dreams?

Real life waits us...we just need to look up and find her...

The power of hope

In my view, the gift of hope is the greatest gift mankind has with it. Every achievement no matter how small starts with this ability of ours - hope. And from hope arises the second gift we have - trust It's a combination of hope and trust that actually runs this world. When we get into a plane and are flying in the air with no safety net whatsoever, hope that we will be safe and the trust that a few of our species namely the engineers and pilots and even the person filling the fuel in the aircraft have done their best. We trust their ability to take care of us. The pilots do the same with pharmacists who design pills that we eat without thinking if we will be alive. Because we hope that we will get well and we trust our fellow humans. Name a profession, and we are bound by an unseen contract of hope and trust with humanity. The army, the farmers, the barbers, the bakers, the teachers, the nurses....the list is endless but yet the hope and trust is what we really buy in return for ...

Social media is here to stay and will only get stronger. The consumers on social media have tasted blood with the knowledge that they have the power to run or ruin brand reputation. That brands cannot take their consumers for granted. I'm sure it is worrying a lot of marketeers that now they are not in control. Well, at least not fully. So how can things change for the better? How can we reach a win win situation for both the brands and customers. How can brands incentivise their loyal customers for spreading positive word of mouth? The solution that comes to my mind is : PPP or acronym for pay per promotion. To elaborate, let's assume that someone retweets a brands post and is able to get 1000 retweets on the post. The brand can decide a certain sum that could be paid to the consumers depending on a rate determined by the brand and mutually agreed upon by the brand and the consumers.
