The fit India!

A few years back, when I walked in a Decathlon store in Delhi NCR. I was mesmerized. 

The brand really stood for its slogan of all for sports and sports for all.

The encouraged sports and made sports fun.

After them many brands joined the process and eventually created a space where fitness and healthy living was celebrated - even if only as a marketing tool.

It helped bringing a positive change. 

Today I find elderly couples wearing sneakers and strolling in parks for a morning walk.

I find youngsters and office goers getting together for a friendly cricket, football or even basketball game.

I see gyming becoming a culture over the last few years.

Today, while participating in a marathon, I noticed something for the first time - I saw parents and grand parents are bringing children to marathons and inculcating the habit of walking/ running from an early age.

These children will grow up with fitness as an integral part of their lives. 

They will embrace fitness as a lifelong journey - not to only get fit and look good before marriage or a special life event.

I'm very happy to see this India - a new fitness embracing India.

The mountain between us

The film mountain between us is a simple story. A storm, A mountain, two professionals, one recklessly sick pilot and a dog. Meagre ingredients for a movie. But the movie touches you deeply. Hits you hard like the sinking Titanic and it's soulful background track. The mountain in the movie is the metaphor we all have in our relationships. It's the mountain and the storm that brings people closer. The lonely souls wandering in the sea of souls, looking for something neither knows. It's so true in our modern lives. We are all living busy lives, chasing dreams. Then life takes over sometimes, creating situations and circumstances that gets us meet people whom we were otherwise never going to meet. The power of hope

In my view, the gift of hope is the greatest gift mankind has with it. Every achievement no matter how small starts with this ability of ours - hope. And from hope arises the second gift we have - trust It's a combination of hope and trust that actually runs this world. When we get into a plane and are flying in the air with no safety net whatsoever, hope that we will be safe and the trust that a few of our species namely the engineers and pilots and even the person filling the fuel in the aircraft have done their best. We trust their ability to take care of us. The pilots do the same with pharmacists who design pills that we eat without thinking if we will be alive. Because we hope that we will get well and we trust our fellow humans. Name a profession, and we are bound by an unseen contract of hope and trust with humanity.
